New ablutions recently completed at Mayoka Primary School in Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania.

According to UNICEF, an estimated 367 million children attend a school with no sanitation facility at all, which could lead to health risks and absenteeism. Learners deserve to have access to sanitation services that provide privacy, dignity and safety.
Since its establishment in 1973, the Mayoka Primary School has received support from a number of generous donors. The school currently has 553 students enrolled with 10 classrooms and an admin block. Previously, 10 ablution toilets were built but more toilets were needed. In 2020 the construction of an additional two blocks of 6 ablutions began to replace the dilapidated toilets at the school. The additional blocks have been completed and the increased ablutions will provide more children with access to toilets and have an improved learning experience.
