Access to healthcare is one of the primary concerns of every community in which we work.
For three decades, Africa Foundation has been working with communities, municipalities and the department of health to increase access to a range of medical services. This includes building clinics and accommodation for healthcare workers and facilitating community-based care initiatives.
One such facility which we have supported over the years is Emurutoto Health Centre. The Emurutoto Health Centre was established by Africa Foundation through community engagement and donor funding in 2018 to service the communities of Emurutoto, Saparingo, Iltolish, Kimitent and Oilorien. In 2019, Africa Foundation also built accommodation on site for the doctor and nurses who are stationed at the clinic. Today, the clinic sees close to 200 patients each week.
