Trees give life!

This #GivingTuesday, and for the next few weeks, Africa Foundation (USA) will be raising funds towards the conservation and restoration of the Nyekweri Forest in Kenya. It is the last remaining indigenous forest within the Trans-Mara District.

In the last 20 years, over 50% of the forest has been cleared due to population growth, agricultural conversion, and rampant charcoal production. In partnership with Africa Foundation, the Kimentet Community Trust is leading the way with community-conservation solutions to restore and protect Nyekweri Forest.

With your donation we will be able to cover the cost of growing, planting and caring for 10 trees, the purchase of nursery equipment and propagation such as seedling tubes, water tanks, crates and tables. We will also be able to provide ECHO Environmental Education lessons at partner schools and support their initiatives to plant indigenous trees.
