A passion for wildlife and nature!

Meet Mary Sintoyia from the Saparingo community, Kenya. She is one of our newly appointed Community and Conservation Rangers. As part of her new role, Mary is managing an indigenous tree nursery at Saparingo Primary School, with the aim of using these trees to help restore Nyekweri Forest

Nyekweri Forest is situated adjacent to the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, and it is one of the last indigenous forests in the trans-Mara District. In addition to its ecological and biodiversity value, the forest is a refuge for endangered wildlife, including the giant ground pangolin and regional elephants.

Community collaboration is vital to conserve and restore this precious forest, and we can only achieve our conservation goals with the help of passionate community members such as Mary.
