Ololosokwan Primary School

Further north Ololosokwan Village borders the Republic of Kenya’s south border. The community consists of approx. 5,000 people, mainly Maasai, who are pastoralists and subsistence farmers.

The Community Leaders Education Fund (CLEF)

Africa Foundation established the Community Leaders Education Fund (CLEF) bursary program in South Africa in 1996, expanding to Tanzania and Kenya in 2014 and Botswana and Namibia in 2018. The mission of CLEF is to assist young people who have displayed leadership potential to acquire education and skills that would not otherwise be available to them. The specific goals of CLEF are to provide access to tertiary education, reduce unemployment levels, increase household incomes and ultimately uplift communities.

Iltolish Mara Primary School Teachers Accommodation

In 2007, Iltolish Community came together to build the first classrooms and teachers’ accommodation that would create a primary school for their children. The responsibility for supplying teachers lies with the Government, and they fulfilled their commitment of supplying a teacher for each classroom.

Saparingo Primary School Fencing Project

Saparingo Primary School was created in 2005 when the community came together to construct the first classroom. Reaching out for assistance they were then supported by World Vision to fund another three classrooms. As nobody living in Saparingo was a qualified to teach, community members had to go out to other areas to source teachers for the school.

Nkomo Primary School Classrooms

In 2020 the school has 448 girls and 446 boys enrolled with 24 teaching staff. There are 19 classrooms at the school, however two of these have lost their roof and are not in use at present, until the Government repair them.
